LOTE (Languages Other Than English)

Students in Years Three—Six are learn the Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia). They receive one hourly lesson per week. There is a strong focus on understanding and developing vocabulary used in simple daily conversations. This includes the ever important need for politeness and basic forms of greeting and leave taking. The students learn how to share information about themselves, their personal identity and their interests as well as talk about every day common activities that they often engage in.

Students are also given the opportunity to experience many Indonesian cultural aspects. Some of these include being able to dress in traditional costumes, cook  Indonesian food , sing songs, participate in dances, watch cultural films, perform in role plays and read traditional stories.

The school also supports Silvina Ina, who is an Indonesian girl we sponsor with the help of World Vision.
