Armadale Primary School hosts a family run playgroup every Wednesday morning from 9am – 10.30am.
Playgroups are a great way for your children to interact with other children in a fun and safe environment, while giving you the opportunity to interact with other parents. They provide a supportive environment for children and their family or carer. There is a sense of belonging to the community, opportunities to form friendships and share ideas and information.
While at playgroup, children have the opportunity to learn through play and develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills in a safe and stimulating environment. Importantly, playgroup also provides the opportunity for parents and children to play together, which is critical to children’s healthy development. By creating a space where parents and caregivers have the opportunity to spend time with their children, playgroups can enhance relationships through play.
Our Playgroup runs as part of Playgroup WA. An annual membership fee is payable to Playgroup WA, in 2017 this was $35 ($15 for Concession Card holders). We also ask for a weekly $2 donation to cover our weekly costs for craft items, toys, tea/coffee and other consumables. Each week children engage in indoor and outdoor play-based activities, enjoy shared fruit and participate in story and rhyme time.
