HARMONY DAY – FRIDAY, 23RD MARCH

We are really looking forward to Harmony Day 2018! As part of our 2018-2020 Business Plan focus area: Building a Positive School Culture, we as a school will be introducing new initiatives and events such as Harmony Day to ensure that cultural diversity in our community is valued and celebrated. Our whole-school assembly will include a Harmony Day parade, and our teachers will also be running class activities based on this theme through the day.

FACTION SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Well done to all of our fantastic Year 3-6 students who took part in the 2018 Faction Swimming Carnival! It was a wonderful day up the hill at Kalamunda Water Park, and it was great to see so many parents and community members in a1endance. Well done, Pluto!

LAPATHON – WEDNESDAY 21ST MARCH

The APS Lapathon is the biggest fund raising event that the school runs each year. It provides funding for important projects and resourcing for our students. This annual event will be held on Wednesday 21st March, commencing at 9:00am. Students are hopefully busy collecting sponsorships from family and friends. We do not endorse students “door knocking” unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

THREE WAY CONFERENCES – WEDNESDAY 28TH MARCH

This is the first year that APS will be utilizing an online booking system for our Three-Way Conferences. The PTO Online booking system will become ‘live’ tomorrow Thursday 15th March from 10:30am. Parents can login and change bookings any time up to 4:00pm on Monday 26th March. After this time the online booking system will be locked. If you are having any issues with your login, please come and see us in the front office. Parents, please remember that school will be closed on this day to enable us to conduct the meetings.

CONNECT PARENT WORKSHOPS

As part of our ‘Connect Community’ induction process for parents this year, we will be running a series of information workshops during the Three-Way Conference Day on Wednesday 28th March. These interactive information sessions will be run by our Music specialist teacher, Ms Bree Hartley in the school library every hour from 9am through to 5pm. You are invited to a1end any of these information sessions throughout the day.

EASTER LONG WEEKEND

As your children MAY have already informed you, the Easter weekend falls within the school term in 2018. Please be aware that all schools in WA will be closed on Good Friday (30th March), as well as Easter Monday AND Tuesday (2nd & 3rd April).

ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE

The school will be conducting its ANZAC Day Commemorative Service on Friday 13th April, which is the final day of Term 1. Please note that the service will begin at 9:00am. Parents and community members are more than welcome to attend.
